Southern California's oldest student produced live streaming network
Saga reporter, Jessica Grettenberger, takes an in-depth look at Balboa Parks "December Nights."
Orange Nation TV was born in 2012 with a cheap camera and a used PC. We started streaming sporting events, talent shows, and graduations through the NFHS network. Even though our club was small, our members wanted to do something no other high school in Southern California was doing and by the end of our second year we were streaming CIF San Diego Section Masters wrestling and other high profile events.
In 2016 our club became a 2 year Career Technical Education (CTE) Pathway. Our students have access to over $150,000 worth of professional grade equipment and software. We have business partners in the media industry, and our students are expected to meet or exceed industry standards.
In 2017 we were honored with a Jimmie Johnson Foundation Grant for $36,000. That generous award has helped our students succeed as professional student content creators. Today, not only do we live stream events, but we also create film and content for TV.
